I am a Registered Social Worker who has dedicated over a 20-year career to working with children, adolescents and adults. I am passionate about mental health and dedicated to enriching the lives of my clients. I help clients to identify and regulate their emotions, as well as teaching them coping strategies that will last them a lifetime.
My counselling style is client-centered and collaborative, operating under a strengths-based approach. My objective is to empower my clients with the skills they need to make meaningful changes in their lives. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy – both these therapies work towards solving life problems such as problematic coping patterns and unhelpful thinking patterns.
Beyond my specialties, I often borrow from other therapies including Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy (MBCT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
